Life celebration of Jim (James) Gordon Bolton

Life journey: July 28, 1947 to September 5, 2019

Beloved husband of Nancy Hertel Bolton
Married 51 years – best friends who were in the business of living life together.
Dedicated Dad/Pops of Shannon (Allison), Colleen (Phil) and Erin,
and special “father” to Aron (Paula).
Loving Papa to Justin, Jesse, Josie, Richard, Hannah and Madalyn.
“There isn’t a day that my heart doesn’t find my children and grandchildren.”

Previous to moving to Windsor, Jim resided in Chatham.

He worked at Rockwell and carried on the family tradition of country mail delivery.
As an adult, Jim graduated from St. Clair College (Chatham campus) from the business program. He and Nancy pursued business together as the owners of Hairport and Colours franchise in Chatham and Colours Windsor. Jim retired from Chrysler Canada.

Through the years, Jim and Nancy spent their summers at Sunny Beach in Erieau with their children, grandchildren and friends. Countless friendships with campers were created. Walks, gatherings, family events, special events at the “white house” and making LOTS of photo memories!
Jim had many loves...family time, travelling, reading, cooking, baking, neighbour chats, a passion for music and the never-ending honey do lists.

Jim was the son of Jean Tiffin Bolton (1985) and step-father Robert Goatbe (1999). Brother of Warren Bolton (2012) and Richard Bolton (2000). Brother-in-law of John Hertel (Karen), Bill Hertel (Fran), Bob Hertel (2018) (Lorraine), and Phyllis Royce (2001) (Ron) (2008).

Thank you to Jim’s dedicated family physician, Dr. K. Nurae, who worked tirelessly to get Jim the medical attention he required.

A heartfelt thank you to neighbour Shelli, her son Ryan and Jim and Nancy’s son, Shannon, for their quick action while waiting for the paramedics to arrive.

To the paramedics and firefighters...you all gave us the gift of time. Thank you.
To the doctors and team of amazing angel nurses in the ICU at Hotel Dieu, Ouellette Campus...there are no words to describe how grateful we are for all of you and all you did for Jim and the family. Thank you.
Thank you to the staff of Families First, Dougall, for all of your help.

An additional thank you to family, friends and acquaintances for all of their continued love and support.
Jim’s legacy also lives on with Nancy in support of WMAD Organization partnered with International Needs, Canada - Water Projects. In lieu of flowers, a donation would be appreciated.
