Peacefully on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 81. Reunited with his loving wife Doris (née Lachance, 2009) for their 54th wedding anniversary. He was an incredible, supportive, ever-present father to Kelly Cushman, Lisa & James Redmond, and Renée & Bob Zimmerman. Greatly loved Pip of Josh, Jayde (Michelle), and Zack (Ashley); Nick (Emily), Alex, and Grace; Ben and Matt. Dear son of the late Miles and Mae Cushman (née Lappan). Cherished brother of John Cushman (Judy) and brother-in-law of the late Dorothy Renaud, the late Fred Lachance (Cecile), Edward Lachance (Janet), the late Elaine Gignac (the late Norm), the late Donald Lachance (Cecile), and Ronald Lachance (Judy). Adored uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Jim was a passionate and well-respected educator with the Windsor Essex Catholic District Schoolboard. He was an Honorary Life Member of Fr. Nicholas Point Council 4375 Knights of Columbus and a long-time executive member and bulletin editor.

Special thanks to the team at Shoreview Retirement Home, especially Erin, Tina, and Janet and the HDGH Palliative team (T2B) for their exceptional care and compassion, treating our dad as your own, we will be forever grateful.

Visiting on Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 2-5 p.m. and again on Monday, July 22, 2019 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. with Knights of Columbus Prayers on Monday at 4:30 p.m. and Family Tributes to be shared at 8:00 p.m. at Families First, 1065 Lauzon Road, East Windsor, 519-969-5841.

On Tuesday, July 23, 2019 visiting will resume at Families First from 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral procession to St. Anne’s Church, 12233 Tecumseh Rd. E., Tecumseh, for a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Interment to follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery.
