James L. Ure
On July 3, 2019, at the age of 91. Beloved husband of Lou (nee Boucher) for 66 years. Loving father of James and wife Judy Ure, Bruce Ure, all of Windsor and Stuart Ure and wife Farrah Rooney of Toronto. Dear son of the late Ray & Lil Ure. Cherished grandfather of Robert, Michael and Ashley. Dear brother of David and wife Nancy Ure of Essex, the late Donald (2018, survived by wife Grace Ure of Troy, Michigan).
Jim retired as Staff Inspector with Windsor Police Services after 35 years. He served on the Board of Directors for the John Howard Society, Hiatus House and was Past President and long-time member of the International Freedom Festival Committee.
If you so desire, donations to Camp Brombal of Windsor Police Services would be appreciated by the family.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial Visitation Friday July 5, 2019, 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. until time of a Memorial Service to celebrate Jim’s life at 8:00 p.m. at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841.
