Bill so sorry to hear of your dads passing. He was always a gentle giant who was very supportive of all of us. He was extremely proud of you and your accomplishments. It was a pleasure getting to know him. My family and I will keep you and your mom in our prayers.

Deepest condolences to Edesse, Bill and the extended Davis family. Jim was a gentle giant of a man. Always kind and courteous and quick with a smile or quip. A very loving, doting and caring father and husband for sure. A great role model for his loving son Bill. This world can always use more Jim Davis' for sure. May God give you the strength you need at this difficult time. Two memories of Jim when I was coaching Bill. One was when he came into the dressing room to address the team after a game that he was not pleased with the effort and he quickly got their attention (and mine) and definitely owned the room. We went on a strong playoff run after that speech to win WECSSAA, SWOSSA and medal at OFSAA. The other is when he chased down a referee at half time of an OFSAA game and the referee asked him "what do you know about basketball"? Jim quickly advised him that he had a long career in the NBA. The referee realized he questioned the wrong man, he quickly turned and ran into the office. That was one of the few moments I had ever seen Jim ever raise his voice.
