Obituary for Jasmine Ann Lemmon

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dearest Jasmine on June 8th, 2023 at 90 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Harry (2015) for 58 years. Loving Mother to sons Paul (Kimberly) and Mark (Nicole Irving). Grandmother to Mathew, Christopher, Kyle H, Ashleigh (Jose), Kyle A and Kirk. Great Grandmother to Sophia and Sterling. Jasmine was born in Norwich, England on November 30, 1932 to Frederick (1960) and Kathleen (1968) Standley. Jasmine was predeceased by sister Marguerita (1973) and brother Robert (2007). In 1966, Harry, Jasmin and sons immigrated to Canada with a hope of creating a better life for their family. While Harry built his career in the insurance field, Jasmine took time off from her career to build a secure home environment for her family. She rejoined the workforce in 1973 at Sears Optical and later moved to Imperial Optical where she worked until retiring in 1983. In retirement, she spent her time relaxing between their homes in LaSalle and Florida. Always a voracious reader, Jasmine could be found on many an afternoon curled up reading a book or spending time with the many friends she made over the years. Jasmine will be greatly missed by us all for her smiling face, friendly attitude and positive view of life. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring and compassionate staff at Hospice of Windsor for their care and attention during Jasmine’s final days and to her trusted and good friend Margaret Tyrer for her devotion over the years. A special thank you to Kyle A and Kirk for their devoted care over the past 18 months in assisting Jasmine with her many appointments. Cremation has taken place per Jasmine’s wishes and her remains are to be returned to the UK for interment. Arrangements entrusted to Families First, South Windsor, 3260 Dougall Ave. (519-969-5841). In celebration of her life, in lieu of flowers or gifts and as an expression of sympathy, donations can may be made to Windsor Hospice or the Charity of your choice.
