Peacefully on May 24, 2020 at the age of 73, with her loving son by her side. Much loved devoted mom of John. Predeceased by her daughters Mary Louise (2002), Danna (2003), and Karleen (2003). Dearest sister of Orian Robert Carter, Beverly Carter, Lawrence Carter, Paul Terry Carter, Carol Burks (the late Bobby Burks), Mary Lloyd, “sister” of Anna Carter, David Carter (wife Valarie). Cherished “Gram” of Anthony, Dominic, Sheekesha, Devonte, Chanel, Deaunte, Demitrius, James, Deandre, Trevon, and predeceased by Andrew (2016). Best “Great-Gram” of Zion, Jai’la, Savon, Onyx, Taiya, Giovanni, Nova and Athius. Jo-Anne will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her parents, Luella Carter and Russell Hurst.

Jo-Anne was a loving and caring lady who loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. Jo-Anne had the nickname “Top Dawg”, as she was the oldest of the siblings and in charge.
