Died peacefully on Saturday, December 5, 2020 surrounded by family and her friends at Longfields Manor in Ottawa. Joan celebrated her 101st birthday in November. Beloved wife of the late Robert “Bob” (1988). Loving mother of Kathy Butterfield (Paul White) and Bob Butterfield (Jadzia). Cherished grandmother to Jenny (Jeff) and Katy (Daryll). Dear great-grandmother to Emma, Sophia and Benjamin. Joan is predeceased by her parents, Thomas “Tom” and Kathleen “Kath” Pierce, brother Jeff Pierce and sister Elizabeth Bailey.

Joan was a social butterfly and a talented artist, specializing in charcoal and pastel portraits. If you so desire, a donation to your local Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
