Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on April 8, 2022 at 85 years of age. Beloved husband of Janet (née Wilcox). Cherished father of Debbra Harris, Kevin Toews (Jinni), and Tracy Toews (Keith Zimmer). Dear grandpa of Patricia (Andrew), Gregory (Ashley), Richard, Jordan (Taylor), Justin (Jamie), Josh (Haley), Jessie and Neven. Dear brother of the late Benjamin Taves (Anita), the late William Toews (late Annetta), and Frank Toews (Alice). He will also be sadly missed by his great-grandchildren, many members of the Wilcox family, as well as many nieces and nephews. John received many awards for being an outstanding and successful financial planner and CGA, CMA, CFP for accounting. He loved music and sang in quartets, choirs and with the Woodstock Choralaires. John loved spending his time playing the harmonica and being with his family and friends. He was a true Christian, a follower of Christ. John will be remembered as a good and loving husband, father, grandpa and great-grandfather, as well as an inspirational and successful speaker and teacher of finances. If you so desire, donations to the Hospice of Windsor, the Kidney Foundation or the MS Society would be appreciated by the family. Visitation on Sunday, April 10, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., as well on Monday, April 11, 2022 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor, 519-969-5841.
