John James "Jim" Fazackerley

With overwhelming sadness, the family of Jim Fazackerley of Bright's Grove, announces his peaceful death on November 18, 2019 on the Palliative Care Unit at Victoria Hospital in London.

Jim will be profoundly missed by his wife Sandra (Sandi) Sahli, who was by his side throughout his illness. Sandi and Jim shared an extraordinary relationship based on mutual support and a deep love for each other.

The proud father of four children, Jim's legacy will live on through Shayne (Dan Vlcek), Matthew (Lyndsay Fields), Mike (Dan Des Rosiers) and Meagan Myers (Scott). Grandpa Jim will be missed by his grandchildren Delaney, Deklan, Tyler, Claire and Allison.

Jim will be fondly remembered by his in-laws, Marc Sahli, Pamela Sahli (Brent Hanson), Ellen and Ian Murray, and Jean Sahli. He will be missed by his nephews and nieces, Brian (Joanna), Nicole (Bobby), Mary Anne (Joey) and Andrew.

Jim was an avid reader and was honoured to be able to share his love of the English language by teaching newcomers to Canada. Retired from the Greater Essex School Board in 2010, he was an inspiring ESL Instructor for Adults.

Never without a joke, Jim enjoyed regaling stories, with many of the tales involving golf. Although Sandi was the love of Jim's life, traveling to warmer climates in the winter to daily hit the links wasn't far behind. Passionate doesn't even begin to describe Jim's enthusiasm for the game, perhaps his appreciation of the ideal golf course is the reason he was so particular about maintaining the perfectly manicured lawn at home. Jim was also an accomplished photographer. His exceptional images of family and travels will be sure to bring back fond memories for years to come.

At his request, there will be no funeral. Jim would like each of us to celebrate his life in our own way, preferably by having a toast in his memory with a glass of red wine. If so desired, donations may be made to Parkwood Hospital - Veterans' Program, London or the Mike Weir Foundation – Challenge for Mental Health.

It is said that golf is like life and for Jim Fazackerly in many respects it was. We like to believe Jim is now in that special place where the fairways are wide, the greens are welcoming, and the sun is always shining.
