Jonathan Vlade Chiaramonte

Our world and hearts will never be the same without you. Jonathan peacefully went to be in the arms of the Lord at home on January 1, 2020 at the age of 23 with his loving mother by his side. Devoted and beloved son to mother Anna who shared an incredibly special and unconditional bond like no other. Cherished little brother to Nadia, “Bato Zlato,” sharing a unique sense of humour together with pure love and respect. Always loved, never forgotten, forever missed.

He will be missed by his father Ross, who was very proud of his academic accomplishments and dedication to his studies at the University of Windsor. Jonathan had a good heart, he was always willing to help others, and enjoyed spending countless hours in the lab. He will be dearly missed by his Nonna Nardina, and the late Nonno Giovanni Chiaramonte. Proudly looked up to by his little brother Matteo Chiaramonte. Also missed by his Zio Michael and cousin Marina Chiaramonte.

Jonathan will be forever missed by his dear Babi, Zvezda Josevski and welcomed into the heavenly gates to meet Dedo, Vlade Josevski. Loved and missed by Aunt Helen (I’ll miss you dearly Buddy) and Uncle Mike Wilcox and his cousins, Mikalah, Hannah and Kale who admired him for his intellect scientific discussions and playful spirit. Jonathan will be remembered by Teta Lida Hristovski, cousins Justin, Sarah and Cameron.
Jonathan was an exceptional scholar who completed his undergraduate degree with distinction, many accolades, and sustained designation on the Dean’s Honour Roll during his studies at the University of Windsor. Jonathan was currently working to complete his Master’s degree in the Faculty of Science in Biochemistry. Jonathan was a member of the Canadian and American Society for Chemistry contributing to several article publications, working towards future scientific advancements through the Trant Research Group including presentations of his accomplishments.

Jonathan had passion for research and innovation throughout his undergraduate studies in Biochemistry and joined Dr. Trant’s group for his fourth year Thesis in 2018, staying with the group for graduate school. His work involved making new fluorescent dyes to help diagnose prostate cancer and designing anticancer vaccines. He coauthored an article in the Journal of Nuclear Medicine on these Dyes in late 2019 and was working on a number of others. He will be greatly missed by the entire Trant Research Team.
If you so desire, donations to the Trant Biomedical Research Fund at the University of Windsor addressed to Gemma Grey-Hall at the Faculty of Science in honour of Jonathan Chiaramonte.
