Obituary for Karl Jennings

Passed away peacefully on September 29, 2020 at the age of 83. Loving husband and best friend to Jo-Anne Kallis, with whom he celebrated 39 years. Dear dad to Ann (Dan) Srnec, Lynn (Stuart) Cameron, Scott Jennings and the late Jennifer Jennings (1962). Precious grandpa to Jordan (Janice), Laura (Jake), Aubrey, Grant, John (Natanya), Jeffrey, Claire (Eric), Luke (Jade), Amy (Jared) and Alaina. Great-grandfather to Blythe, Joseph, Charlie, James, Benjamin and one precious bundle on the way. Karl will be missed by his fur baby Robbie. Also remembered by his former wife and mother of his children, Heather Jennings. Karl’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to him. They all hold a very special place in his heart. Dear son to the late Brigadiers Bruce and Louisa Jennings of the Salvation Army. Beloved brother to Earl (Effie) Jennings and the late Colonels Nellie (Frank) Watson of the Salvation Army, Alison Jennings, Ivy (Roy) Dix, Cathy (surviving husband Stan) Kenney. Dear brother-in-law to Don (Patti) Kallis. Karl will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins and friends. Karl spent all his career in used car sales, retiring as Used Car Manager at Central Chrysler after many years. He was a long time member of Essex Golf and Country Club, where he enjoyed many rounds of golf with his friends. Karl enjoyed spending winters in Florida golfing with his friends there until his health issues kept him home. If you so desire, memorial donations to Ontario Lung Association, Windsor and Essex County Humane Society, Brentwood Recovery Home would be appreciated by the family. Karl’s family would like to thank Dr. Dhar, Dr. Gary Ing and the Respiratory floor at Metropolitan Campus for all their care and kindness over the years. Also thank you to Ouellette Campus E.R. in his last hours. Thank you to Pro-Resp at home Oxygen therapy and thank you to McGaffey Pharmacy. Everyone’s kindness and compassion will always be remembered. Reservations and personal face coverings are required to attend the visiting on Sunday October 4, 2020 from 3-5, 7-9 p.m. and Funeral Service Monday October 5, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841. You can reserve your time or seat for the Funeral Service at Families First.ca (RSVP) or by calling directly. Please note due to COVID 19 regulations attendance for cemetery services may be limited.
