Obituary for Kathleen "Kay" Mailloux (Shannon)

August 11, 1932 – May 15, 2023

With saddened hearts, we share the passing of Kay.

Loving mother of Paul (Lorna) Mailloux, Ken (Christina) Mailloux and Sue (Tom) Manherz. Much loved Granny of Matt (Megan), Tara, Liz (Charlie), Samm, Jarrod (Azarria) and Lily. Loving Great Granny of Ben. Dear sister in law of Jane. Predeceased by her siblings Moe (Dunc) Duncan, Dan, Paddy (Art) Cooper, Tom (June) and Brian (Debbie).

Kay was a special lady known and loved by many as Granny or Auntie Kay. Her door was always open and candy dish was always full. Her stubbornness was part of her charm and you knew you would have to yell your entire visit because she refused to wear her hearing aids.

She found joy in never missing a birthday or holiday making sure she mailed everyone a card every single time. Nothing made her happier than a visit from a dog, a baby, or Jarrod’s friends… aka her “Special Boys”.

Kay worked at Bell Canada for years, and retired from Windsor Raceway, leaving proudly with many lifelong friendships.

We were lucky to have so many people to look out for Granny. Thank you to everyone in the “hood” and all of her friends for all of the visits and care. Thank you to Josette Riddell, for always going above and beyond with your true love for Granny. Connie Ohler, Patti Clark, and Jennifer Fazekas-Maisonville your care and compassion was so appreciated and never forgotten.

Kay will leave a huge void in so many of our lives and will be terribly missed.

Following Kay’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
