I was very fortunate to get to be Kevin's roommate for two years in Toronto. He was very kind in helping me navigate a new city. We had many great discussions and debates (which continued for years after). I've never known anyone who could be as focused on his goals and interests. Whether it was studying for his accounting exams or memorizing the Borat theme song, he gave it his all. I got to know a very hard worker and a kind man. He will be missed.

Dear Kevin, I have not met you in person, which is a shame not to know a wonderful guy like you. I first started hearing about you from my wife who is a friend of Mme Ashley at Monseigneur Jean-Noël. Many times May, my wife, would tell me about a posting that you have which then I would go in and read and be inspired by the strength of your faith in God. May and I were in shock last week when we found out that you were not doing well, and I wanted to send you a message to tell you not to give up the fight and to remain strong in the face of this ugly disease that took away one of the dearest people to my heart, my mom, among other loved ones and friends. At the same time I felt silly saying this to you, because I have not heard of someone like you before, with your strong will, high spirits, and most importantly deep deep faith in God. You are truly an inspiration to everyone and although you lost the battle with this disease here on earth, you are in a much better and beautiful place right now "shining down on us from heaven, like so many friends we've lost along the way, and we know eventually we'll be together" and that truly will be "one sweet day". That being said, for us the ones that are left behind when we lose a loved one, it is very hard to cope with the sorrow and sadness. I cannot imagine how hard this is on Ashley losing her soulmate, and on your parents as well losing their beloved son. Then seeing little Aaron there at the funeral home clinging every now and then to his mom, it broke my heart thinking about how he will grow up and not have a daddy around. Life can be not fair not only sometimes but many times, and we might not understand why things happen the way they do, but we must carry on and like you did we must have strong faith in God and keep our trust in Him beyond the skies.
