Obituary for Leposava ""Baba"" Oklobdzija

It is with profound sadness that the family of Leposava Oklobdzija (nee.Obradovic), known as Baba to many, announce her peaceful passing surrounded by her family on October 18, 2023 at the age of 97.

Leposava was born on May 1, 1926 in Gospic, Lika, the Kingdom of Yugoslavia to her late parents Luka and Stanka Obradovic. She immigrated to Canada in 1957 to start a new life with her late husband Iso Oklobdzija (2000).

Survived by her daughters Vera Bertozzi (Ja McDonald) & Dorothy Oklobdzija. Cherished Baba to grandson’s Silvano (Christi) Bertozzi, Robert (Virginia) Bertozzi; (father Marcello Bertozzi) and great grandchildren Gennaro & Milania whom she deeply cherished. Mourned by her life long friend Maria Oklobdzija and the late Gojko Oklobdzija. Reunited with her best friend Maria Pez (2023). Baba will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Leposava leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Leposava was a very talented seamstress with a very devoted following in her earlier years. She showed her adoration of family and friends through her cooking and baking but mostly by being a devoted grandmother to her grandson’s and great grandchildren.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Huron Lodge and Windsor Regional Hospital – Ouellette Campus for their extraordinary care and compassion.

On October 22, 2023 visitation will be from 4-8pm with Orthodox Prayers at 7pm at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor, 519-969-5841. On October 23, 2023 a funeral service will take place at 10am at Families First South Windsor. Burial to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens.
