With her loving family by her side, Loretta D’Agnillo passed away peacefully on July 31, 2020 at the age of 74 years after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on June 4, 1946 in Adria, Italy, she came to Canada at the young age of 5 with her parents, the late Ennio Ruzza and surviving mother Isabella. She was the beloved and devoted wife of Ermete D’Agnillo with whom she celebrated 54 years of marriage. Cherished Mother of Daniela D’Agnillo, John D’Agnillo (Natalie) and Tania D’Angela (Joe). Adored Nonna to Olivia, Marco, Johnny, Julia and Matthew. Dear Sister of Annalisa Rossi (late Valentino), Leda Kobrosly and husband Adnan and Gina Meo and husband Raffaele. She will be lovingly remembered by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Loretta was a dedicated wife and mother first and foremost. She treasured her family and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nonna to her 5 wonderful grandchildren. Loretta’s kitchen was the hub of her home, a place where the family spent a great deal of time together, cooking together, eating together and connecting together. Her beautiful smile, compassion and generosity will be greatly missed by all. She touched the lives of many young students in her 33+ years of teaching with the Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board. She also shared her love with the Church and a special devotion to the Blessed Mother, Mary. She was a woman of strong faith and graciously devoted much of her retirement years serving the church as a Eucharistic minister, a member of the Carmelites and also initiated the Rosary Apostolate in Windsor schools as well as numerous prayer groups. The family would like to thank the staff at the Hospice Residential Home in Windsor for their care and support as well as the other health practitioners that assisted Loretta.
If you so desire, donations to the Hospice Residential Home or Our Lady of Guadalupe Home of Windsor would be appreciated by the family.
