Obituary for Louis Elio Panontin
After a long and happy life dedicated to his family, Lou passed away peacefully on April 19, 2022 at 88 years of age. Devoted husband of Nina (nee Walters) for 62 years of marriage. Dedicated father of Michael, Angela Knapp (Paul), Andrea Read (John), Gina Ditmars and Anthony. Proud Nonno of Gina, Stephen, Grace, Ryan, Rachel, Alivia (Shane), Matthew (Alexandria) and Giula. Dear brother of the late John (Klara). Uncle Lou will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews.
Lou founded Southern Mechanical Contractors Limited and was the former owner of Bryant Heating & Cooling. He was the past president of Windsor Construction Association and ASHRAE. Lou sat on many boards through the years including Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commission, Windsor Symphony, Art Gallery of Windsor and Via Italia Seniors. He was a Member of Giovanni Caboto Club, Essex Golf & Country Club and a proud team member of the 1952 & 1954 AKO Football Championship Teams.

Visitation Friday April 22, 2022 from 2 - 5 pm & 7 - 9 pm at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor. On Saturday April 23, 2022, family and friends are invited to meet directly at Corpus Christi Church (1400 Cabana Rd. W.) for an 11 am Funeral Mass. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
