Obituary for Louis Nayef Francis

May 25, 1934 – September 18, 2019
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother Louis Nayef Francis with his family at his side. Louis is survived by his wife Laila of 59 years, his children Tony (Nadine), George (Clarine), Joseph, Peter (Carmen) and his grandchildren, Nada, Reena, Louis, Isabelle, Jason, Olivia, Kaylee and Andrew. Louis is survived by his sisters Naife (Edmond) Chidiac and Elaine Francis of Lebanon along with many nephews and nieces. Predeceased by his parents Nayef and Zihri, brothers Eid and Nagib and sisters Issine and Adelle.

Louis was born in Zaghrine, Lebanon and came to Canada in 1963 where he worked as a chef at Windsor Raceway and Elmwood Casino. With Louis‘ entrepreneurial spirit he was a founder of Francis Mediterranean Bakery in 1978 and the property management company Diamond Property in 2002. Louis was a member of St. Peter’s Maronite Knight of Columbus Council #13335 and a Fourth Degree Member of Dean Wagner Assembly 0862. Of all of Louis’ accomplishments his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family and friends at his farm where there was always good food, music and laughter.

The Francis Family would like to thank the nurses and doctors on the 5th floor and 7th floor of Windsor Regional Hospital Ouellette campus for their kindness and excellent care of Louis.

If you so desire, donations to Hospice of Windsor would be appreciated by the family.
