Obituary for Mabel Armstrong

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our precious mother Mabel at age 90. Beloved wife of the late Donald for 55 wonderful years. Cherished mother of Nancy & Darrell Sparks of Iowa, Mary & friend Gino Conte, Bob & Debbie Armstrong, Ruth and David Blandford, Caroline Armstrong-Rice and predeceased by Douglas & Betty Armstrong, Marlene & Mike Charette and baby Georgie Armstrong. She was a generous, unconditional, loving, grandmother of 9 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 4 great grandsons and 2 great granddaughters and predeceased by our beloved grandson Jacob Rice and one on the way. Sadly and fondly missed by family friend Richard Bradie, Sylvia Tinker, Mary Baker and Jeff Sumner.

Mabel was raised in Englehart, at age 12, was a butter wrapper from Englehart Creamery. She married school teacher and moved south for better weather. She enjoyed a life of travel to Europe with her husband and numerous trips with daughters to New Orleans, Vegas, Hawaii, Alaska, Caribbean, Disney Cruises, and Cuba. She was a landlord, entrepreneur, home renovator and fantastic organizer. She enjoyed country music, Caesar concerts, RV-ing, camping and watching her grandchildren play and grow.

Special thanks to Crown Transport, Met Emerge for making her transition to our Lord’s arms comfortable. Mabel will be deeply missed by her family, friends and community.

Donations to Canadian Mental Health Association or the Downtown Mission would be appreciated by the family.
