It is with deep sorrow and broken hearts we announce the passing of Maria on March 10, 2023 at 89 years of age. Loving wife of Steve for 68 years. Devoted mother of Rita Nelson (George), Connie Simone (Victor), Dan (Joyce) and Theresa Pietrangelo (Tony). Proud nonna of Joseph (Leanne), Paul (Ruby), Chris (Connie), Mark (Patrick), Jennifer (Nathan), Michael (Kathryn), Anthony (Kristi), Steven, Danny (Frosilda), Marco (Ashley), Alessandra and great nonna of 10 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Lucia and predeceased by Rocco, Domenico and Antoniette. Sister-in-law of the late Guido Simone (Mary) and the late John Simone (the late Concetta). She will be sadly missed by her cousin Ada and many nieces and nephews.

Maria will be remembered for her selfless nature, helping friends, preparing meals, baking and gardening. Maria and Steve cherished over 20 years vacationing in Acapulco where they made many great friends. The Simone family would like to thank the amazing nursing staff on the 5th and 6th floor WRH – Met. Campus for their care and kindness.

Visitation Thursday March 16, 2023 from 3 – 5 pm & 7 – 9 pm with Parish Prayers at 4:30 pm at Families First, 585 Sandwich St. S, Amherstburg. On Friday March 17, 2023, family and friends are invited to meet directly at St. Joseph River Canard Church (9399 N Townline Rd.) for an 11 am Funeral Mass.
