Obituary for Maria Carmela Ciantar

On January 9th, 2024 surrounded by her loving family, Maria peacefully went to be with her Lord.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years Salvino “Sam”.
Cherished Mom to Joseph, Mary-Anne (Paul) Azzopardi, and Cathy (John) Azzopardi.
Loving Nanna to Jacob (Silvana), Stephanie (Jacob), Natalie, Daniel, Jordan (Larissa), Christopher, Marie (David), Katherine (Jesse), and the late Carmelo.
Great Nanna to Iliana, Eli, Matteo, Lucas, and Naomi.
Beloved sister to Dorothy and Alfred. Predeceased by her siblings Madeline, Beatrice, Jack, Victor, and Joseph.
Maria will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and close family friends.

If there were three words we would use to describe Maria’s life, they would be Faith, Family, and Food. She had a big personality and an even bigger heart. Maria enjoyed spending time with her family whether it was hosting the family for dinners at their home or joining them on a cruise. She loved all her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and watching them grow up brought her great pride. When she wasn’t hosting her family or friends, Maria could be found watching Youtube videos, anything from cooking to music could be found in her no less then 280 channel subscriptions! Above all else Maria’s faith and love of God was very important to her, everyday she made a point to watch Mass from her home country of Malta. Maria was the pillar of our family, our rock and she has gained her wings.
