Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 13, 2023 at the age of 90 years.
Beloved and devoted wife of John Grigorakis. Cherished mother of Steve and Helen and Callie and Jamal.
Treasured Yiayia of John and Monik, Eva and Mladen, Stefan and Heather and Athena.
Proud great grandmother of Milos, Winnie, Eleni and Ares.
Adored sister of Kosta and Chrisoula Stamatakis and Antonia and Nick Terzakis. Sister in-law of George and Toula Grigorakis.
Loved theia of Eva (Emmanuel) Giakoumakis, Stella (late Ron) Woodcroft, Eva (Jimmy) Sabalis, Kathy Stamatakis, Stella Stamatakis (Greece), Lou and Sergio Megaloekonomos (Argentina).
Special aunt to Soula (Niko) Efthymiou. Loving friend to Theano Felekides.
Will be missed by many nieces, nephews, Koubari and friends in Canada, Greece and Argentina.

Reunited with her parents Emmanouil and Styliani Stamatakis, sister Georgia and Vasilios Megaloekonomos, brother Emmanouil (Marika) Stamatakis and nephews Emmanuel Stamatakis and Emmanuel (Laki) Stamatakis and niece Maria Terzakis.

She was a proud original member of the Cretan Association of Windsor and a lifelong member of the Greek Orthodox Community of Windsor.

Maria was a caring, strong, resilient and fierce protector of her family. Family and friends refer to her wonderful witty sense of humour, creativity, loyalty, and optimism under all circumstances, dedication, compassion, understanding, warmth, and most of all her immeasurable inner strength and faith against all odds. She was strong and her determination enabled her to live at home to enjoy a meaningful life despite her many challenges.
The family is grateful for and thank all who supported and helped care for her the past few years. After a full life of 90 years, it is now time to return the wonderful gift to God. May a flight of Angels take you on their wings to your sweet resting place in heaven. We carry you with us always- in our hearts, souls and memories. You are loved and remembered forever.

Visiting Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from 7:00-9:00pm with Thrice Holy Hymn Service at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Thursday, April 20th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens.
