Obituary for Marie-Jacqueline “Jackie” Wardell

It is with aching hearts that we announce Jackie’s passing on May 4, 2020 at the age of 58. Beloved and cherished daughter of Keith and Madeleine Wardell (née Carroll). Loving sister of Kevin Wardell (Tina), and Jennifer Wardell (Andrew Cizek). Cherished aunt of Sydney (Michael), Kyra (Zach), and Ryan. She will be sadly missed by aunts, uncles, cousins, especially her aunt “Pat” Patricia Carroll who shared in Jackie’s life from the beginning to end.

A heartfelt thank you to all of Jackie’s dedicated support staff and the unwavering commitment that Community Living Windsor provided Jackie with, for many years. Thank you to the doctors and nurses of 7 West and 7 East of W.R.H. - Ouellette Campus, for their compassionate care given to Jackie. Thank you Jordan for providing the FaceTime to connect with our daughter, when visits weren’t allowed. It eased her loneliness and fears, and ours too. Jackie was a kind soul who could light up a room with her beautiful blue eyes and gentle spirit.

Cremation has taken place. Due to the current restrictions on public gatherings, a private family graveside service has taken place at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.

A celebration of Jackie’s life will be held at a later date.

If so desired, in memory of Jackie, donations can be made directly to Community Living Windsor.

I know what you are thinking, you need a sign. What better one could I give, than to make this little one whole and new? I could do it, but I will not. I am the Lord and not a conjurer. I gave this child a gift, I denied to all of you eternal innocence. To you she looks imperfect, but to me she is flawless. She will never offend me, as all of you have done. She will never destroy the work of my Father's hands. She is necessary to you, she will evoke the kindness that will keep you human. More and more she will remind you, that I have chosen you. This little one is my sign to you. Treasure her!
