Obituary for Marion Marietta

Reunited with beloved husband Herbert (2004) on June 24, 2012 at the age of 86 years at Windsor Regional Hospital-Complex Care. Mother of Richard Marietta, and Phyllis and husband Gil LeBlanc. Grandmother of Michael Reaume (Candy), Mike LeBlanc (Allison) of Florida, Laurie LeBlanc (Paul) and great grandmother to Alex, Holly and Carter. She will also be missed by long time family friends Bob and Marie Nesbitt. Marion is survived by her brothers Gerry and Allan, and sisters Betty and Donna. Predeceased by sisters Margaret and Kay. Marion was born in Brantford, and moved to Toronto after schooling. She started working early with a solid work ethic and became known as one of the "Rosie the Riveters" supporting the WWII oversea efforts at home. Marion helped build the famed Avro Lancaster bombers for National Steel Car Ltd. She moved to Windsor in 1950, worked at Norton-Palmer Hotel, Tunnel BBQ & other jobs prior to working as personal manager at Kmart. She finished her career as the Store Manager Pennington's Devonshire Mall. Marion was knowledgeable, strong–willed and a force to be reckoned with, whenever a situation called for action. She was practical, prudent, clever, and a very private person who could always present herself extremely well. Her passions were travel, reading, opera music, crossword puzzles, and current events. If you so desire, donations made to the Salvation Army. Visiting Tuesday 3-5 and 7-9. Funeral Wednesday 10:30 am from FAMILIES FIRST 1065 LAUZON RD. East Windsor (519-969-5841).
