Obituary for Mark "Doc" Docherty

Mark passed away peacefully, at the young age of 60, with his loving family by his side, after a late diagnosis with pancreatic cancer.

Beloved son of John and the late Ruth Docherty (nee Gillen, 2009). Cherished brother of Margaret & Dan Pagé, Jacqueline & Tony Lahoud, and Helen & Tim Normand. Adored uncle of Matthew, Stephanie, Victoria, Morgan, Joshua, Abigale, and Myla.

Mark was born in Windsor, he was a lover of sports: cross country running, wrestling, hockey, baseball and a huge fan of the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings. When Mark was 18, he moved to Calgary, Alberta where he worked for Coca-Cola for 40 years. He loved his life there, spending time with great friends, skiing in Montana, golfing in Fernie, and watching the Calgary Flames, especially when the Red Wings were in town. Mark was a generous and kind soul and he will be greatly missed.

A heartfelt thank you to the staff of VON, Paramed and Hospice, especially doctors Burgess and Morvay for their compassionate care of Mark. Thank you also to our family and friends for their love, support and prayers during Mark’s journey.

If you so desire, donations to the Hospice of Windsor would be appreciated by the family.
