Martha Diakowsky

Born June 8, 1939 passed peacefully on September 30, 2020, holding her husband’s hand and surrounded by the love of her children. Loving wife of Eugene Diakowsky, together celebrating over 58 years of marriage, and building a strong family bond. Most amazing mother to Ellen Ajersch and husband Rob, Karen Omahen and husband Dan, Steven Diakowsky and wife Tammy, and Marion Lill and husband Kevin. Her wise counsel, unending love and warm hugs will be dearly missed. Predeceased by her parents Andrew and Helena Galad. Sister of the late Helen Sokolik and her late husband Mike, and Milan Galad and his late wife Margaret. Sister-in-law of the late Morris Diakowsky and his wife Daria. To many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, she was Aunt Martha. Blessed with long-time friends who are considered family. Dear Uncle Gene and Cousins - please accept our sincere sympathy. I wish we could be there to hug you all.

I was always impressed by Aunt Martha’s quick wit and enjoyed her sense of humor. Hers was a warm and caring presence which made a strong impression on my family.
For my bridal shower Aunt Martha gifted me two cookbooks, written by sisters and appropriately, packed with delicious recipes, funny cartoons and horrible puns. I still cook from those books today. They are worn and stained and I will continue to treasure them.
On one cover, written in Aunt Martha’s distinctive script are the words,
“On the occasion of Roxanne’s Bridal Shower:
A wedding night should be like a kitchen table. Four legs and no drawers.”

All our love,
Roxanne, Dan, Daniel & Sabina

My condolences to a great family, such sad news. I will always remember Martha for her loving heart and smile. And the great Borscht she made when I was a kid. I will always have fond memories of the times we spent together. The Dimitrick family sends it's love.

God bless
Love From your God Son.

My grandmother was such an amazing woman. She had a weak heart because had given so much to other people, she didn't have anything left for herself. She was so selfless and she never stopped giving. Anyone who knew her, was so blessed to have known her. She was, is, and ALWAYS will be, such a spectacular woman. Whether she is a friend, family, or just someone in front of you at the grocery store, she was always there for you. She loved so many people and that love and spark in her, will never end. I was so blessed to have her as my grandma. I will always love her!❤

Her loving grandaughter, Jessica
