Mary Reid ( (nee Burford))

After a full and happy life Mary K. Reid (nee Burford) passed away peacefully on December 9th 2019 at the age of 97 ½. Born in Windsor to W.Fredrick & Alice May Burford (nee Billingham). Wonderful wife and partner to James M. Reid (2006) for 59 years. Loving mother to her four children – Kathleen Paterson, Dr. Alison Bested (husband Randy), Beverly Marshall (husband Dr. Norman), Jim Reid (wife Lesley). Remembered as Gran by her 10 grandchildren. Lacey Marshall, David Paterson (Britni), Rachael Crellin (Jon), Mary Beth Lamontagne (Dan), Jonathan Bested, Stephen Bested (Lauren), Graham Reid, Rachel, Jarrod, & Sydney St Denis, and 8 great grandchildren Moira & Beatrice Cool, Lindsay, Cate & Ella Crellin, Phillip & Laura Lamontagne & Liam Paterson. Loving Aunt Mary to many nieces & nephews.

Mary worked at Windsor Flight Training School in WW2, Union Gas & Hiram Walkers. Mum dedicated herself to raising her children & devoted her life to her family. She was known for her kindness & fun loving spirit. She was happiest when her family & friends gathered together. Many wonderful memories were made with the Burford Clan at her cottage in Elmdale. She was active with her Westminster church family, card ladies and always supported Windsor Light Music Theatre & Music Express. Mary is survived by her brother Gilbert Burford (Mary Lou). She is predeceased by her sister Cynthia Rose (Bill), brothers George (Catherine), and Richard (Marilyn). Many heartfelt thanks to Mum’s caregivers from Home Instead, Oak Park, Met Hospital, and Hospice.

If you so desire, the family would welcome donations to: Westminster United Church, Windsor Light Music Theater, Music Express or Hospice of Windsor. Visitation will be held Thursday December 12, 2019 from 3p.m.-5p.m. and 7p.m.-9p.m. A celebration of life will be held Friday December 13, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:30a.m. at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841.
