Obituary for Mary Seary

Peacefully, at home, on February 9, 2021, at the age of 97, with her loving family by her side.

In Hamilton, Scotland in 1923 to Sam and Margaret Irvine a daughter was born, one of three

In 1926 from Scotland they came and in Windsor they would land.

Now her sisters Margaret and Rose are waiting to hold her hand.

She loved school, she loved to study and play

She was ‘ALL CITY’ basketball and could make 3 pointers all day.

At St. Joseph’s High School the Honour roll she made

Till this day she was proud of her grade.

Five children she would bear in the years to come

And we are all very happy each and every one.

A substitute teacher and a Ford Motor Company Employee

She was strong and determined because she had to be.

A social worker for a twenty year span

And was still the Detroit Tigers biggest fan.

She liked to knit, play cards and frequent the casino

But in the summer it was golfing she liked to go.

She was left a widow at age 39 (William Cullen 1963)

Only to be left a widow again a second time at age 60 (Clifford Seary 1983).

Mother you taught us Fairness, Awareness and Forgiveness but most of all you taught us to be strong and self-sufficient. When we needed you, you were always there. You are the BEST Mother, Mother-in-law, Grandmother and G.G. and we have to let you know we couldn’t have made it without you. You wove the Family Web with determination and you succeeded. You are to be commended, because of you our Family still thrives as a very close unit and we wouldn’t want it any other way. YOU ARE THE GREATEST ROLE MODEL. We Love you and always will. Bill Cullen and wife Bonnie, Maureen Gadd and husband Jim, Terry Cullen and wife Connie, Barbara Purdon and husband Gary, Barry Cullen and wife Lori and families. Save us a seat! If you so desire, donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Canada (JDRF.ca) would be appreciated by the family. Due to COVID restrictions, a private family visitation has taken place. A Funeral Service to honour Mary’s Incredible life will take place Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. and will be livestreamed from Mary’s profile at www.familiesfirst.ca. Burial to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Families First, South Windsor, 3260 Dougall Ave (519-969-5841).
