Obituary for Maxine Annie Murphy

April 3, 1933 – August 19, 2019

Born in Gosfield North Township, Maxine was the middle child in a family of 13 children. She was stricken with polio at the age of six, but it never slowed her down. She attended public (J.E. Benson) and high (Patterson Collegiate) school, entered the work force in the secretarial field (Rinshed-Mason), achieved the position of Office Manager and bookkeeper at WC Crosby Architects and spent many more years as a bookkeeper (Shopper’s Drug Mart and Skippy’s Plumbing and Donuts). Maxine was married to the love of her life (Ed) for 64 years at the time of his passing (October 4, 2016) and they were members of the R.C.L Branch #143 for over 60 years. They raised four children, Liz (Dan), Ada of Michigan, Larry (Nancy) of St. Catherines, ON, the late Mike (July 7, 2014) (Val) of Mission, B.C. and Pam of Windsor. They were further blessed with 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. We would like to extend a special thank you and much gratitude to mom’s primary care worker Lucy; Kim and the girls from Paramed that have been a god send over the past 12 plus years. Mom will be greatly missed by her many family members and friends but we know that she is at peace and probably enjoying a margarita with the love of her life and son while watching over those left behind. Maxine has requested that her body be donated to the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Western Ontario.

If you so desire, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
