I am so sadden to hear of Mike’s passing. I meant Mike in high school. I have so many wonderful memories. He truly was a good person. He missed opening day of duck season to come to my wedding. We all know how important opening day is. Renee, Samantha and Andre I offer you my deepest condolences. May God be with you. Fernanda

Mike and I always used to start our conversations with four words - "It's your favourite cousin." And truly he was. I love everyone in my family, but Michael always held a special place. It was his laughter, his good nature, his love of family, his reminiscences of Grandma and Grandpa Meloche, his love and respect for my brother Paul and my father Clair Ackley, our shared stories and memories of family Christmases, trips his family made to Tennessee, all of the special times that cousins cherish and remember. He was a helper to me over the years with my houses and projects, he house sat for me a number of times when he was young, he gave me driftwood for my gardens, wild duck for a dinner party, the world's best baklava, and we made a lot of memories along the way. He was truly one of a kind. His strength of character was uncompromising. His sense of humour legendary. He was a talented wood carver, artist, and story teller extraordinaire. I do not mourn his passing, I celebrate his life and will cherish every memory, every smile, every kindness, and every moment I had the privilege to spend with him. Rest well Michael. Your fight was valiant. You will live on in my heart, and I will retell your stories as long as I live. To my favourite cousin from your favourite cousin. All my love, Cousin Judy.
