Obituary for Mirto Lenisa

Is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mirto on June 1, 2019 at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Anna (nee Marcuzzi) with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. Loving father of Steven, Sandy (Dwayne) Dawson and Stacey (Patrick) Farrell. Cherished and proud Nonno of Kendra, Jordyn and Renata. Predeceased by his parents Armando and Maria Luisa and infant brother Gian Battista. Dear brother-in-law of Carmen (late Anthony) Rigo, Lino (Joanne) Marcuzzi and Colleen (late Larry) Marcuzzi. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mirto was born in Stevena de Caneva, Italy. At the age of 13 his family immigrated to Mendoza, Argentina where they resided for 9 years. This is where Mirto learned his trade while working during the day and attending industrial school at night. In 1959 the family immigrated to Canada to begin a new life. Mirto’s strong work ethic continued, finding work the second day after he arrived. Mirto was the owner and operator of Mirto Auto Repair Ltd where he and Anna worked together for 28 years. His motto was “Every job done with interest and care”. Mirto was a member of the Fogolar Furlan for over 50 years. A member of the Windsor Sportsman Club, Harrow Gun Club and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish. He will always be remembered for his sense of humour and love of a good practical joke. Some of his favourite things included spending time with relatives and friends, eating, making wine, drinking wine, hunting and his Spinoni dogs but above all he loved his family.

A special thank you to Dr. Frank DeMarco, the doctors and nurses of WRH 8E Ouellette Campus, 6N Metropolitan Campus, Windsor Cancer Clinic and the Hospice of Windsor.
