Mohini passed away on January 22, 2020 at the age of 78 years. In 1997, she was predeceased by her husband Ashok Altekar. She was the loving mother of sons Shirish Altekar (wife Satomi) and Charudatta Altekar. She had three grandchildren Ketan, Akio, and Mayu whom she adored and who cherished their beloved Aaji. Mohini will be missed by her sisters Bharati Sahasrabudhe and Usha Karve. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, and she will also be missed by her many friends, both near and far.

Mohini trained as an architect in India. With Ashok and their sons, she moved to Ghana and later to Canada. She retrained as a mould designer and had a long career at various firms in Windsor. Mohini relished the time she spent with her family. She made a point to keep in touch with her large network of family members and friends and had a very active social life.

Mohini traveled the world, visiting Russia, Europe, Africa, India, and the United States, among other places. Locally, she enjoyed taking walks at Reaume Park (Peace Fountain). Every summer, she raised a variety of vegetables in her garden. Her family and friends appreciated the fact that she was an amazing cook, always making things from memory and from scratch. She enjoyed the simple pleasures that life brought her.

Visiting time will be Saturday, from 10am until the start of the service, which will begin at 11am. Immediately following the service, the cremation will be performed onsite.
