Obituary for Monique Patricia Goyeau (nee. Morneau)
Passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023 in Windsor at the age of 91.
Beloved spouse of 64 years to Robert. Loving and Devoted mother to Paul ( Col) Goyeau; Susanne ( Earl) Schulthies; Joseph (Joy) Goyeau; and Michelle ( Peter) Lee. Beloved Mim to Jacqueline, Daniel ( Courtney), Claire, Luc ( Avy), Christopher, Jonathan ( Shravani), Jillian (Jayden), Joshua and Jacob. Monique is predeceased by her siblings Marion , Vincent, Frank, Joseph and Paul and by her parents Beatrice and Harvey Morneau.
Monique was a teacher with the Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board for over 35 years. She was an active and dedicated member of her St John Vianney church community. Monique was a lector, a member of the RCIA team, a member of the choir, a member of St Vincent de Paul Society, and a regular cook and volunteer for Senior’s card nights.
Visitation at Families First East Windsor located at 1065 Lauzon Rd, Windsor, Ontario N8S 3M8 on Monday evening, September 11, between 6 and 8 pm. A mass of christian burial will take place at St John Vianney Roman Catholic Church at 385 Dieppe Street on September 12 at 11 am. Visitation prior to the mass at the church begins at 10 am. Interment to follow the mass at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
A heartfelt thank you from our family to the people who eased our mother’s passing and treated her with kindness and dignity including, the amazing EMT crews that attended, the staff of caring nurses and exceptional Doctors at Windsor Regional Hospital, Metropolitan and Ouellette Campuses and the nursing staff and physicians of Hospice of Windsor.
If you wish, donations may be made in Monique’s name to the Society of St Vincent de Paul or to Hospice of Windsor.
