Obituary for Murray Edward Reed

Passed away peacefully, with his family, on November 22, 2019 at the age of 98. Predeceased by his wife Patricia Reed (White). Beloved father of David (deceased), Brian, Ann (deceased) and Janet. Brother of the late Verda Trestrail (Frank) and the late Donna Archer (William).

Murray graduated from Walkerville Collegiate Institute and went to work at the Ford Motor Company of Canada in Windsor. He enlisted in the Canadian Army during the Second World War. Following discharge from the army, he returned to Windsor. Murray was the Director of Personnel at the Windsor Utilities Commission for many years. He was a long time member of the Windsor Curling Club Seniors Association and a member of St. James Anglican Church. Murray was also a Church Warden at St. Mark’s Anglican Church. Murray’s family would like to send a very special thank you to the staff at Windsor Regional Hospital Metropolitan Campus, 7 North. Your kindness and compassion will always be remembered. If you so desire memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Windsor & Essex County or Community Living Essex County would be appreciated by the family.

Visiting Wednesday 3-5, 7-9 p.m. Windsor Veterans Memorial service under the auspices of the Windsor Veterans Memorial Service Committee Wednesday 4:30 pm. Visiting Thursday from 10:30a.m. A Celebration of Murray’s life will follow at 11:30a.m. at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841.
