Obituary for Neriah Ariel Thomas

Mark 9:37a – “Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me…”

Conceived in the month of April 2020, Neriah Ariel Thomas, was welcomed into the hearts and home of Janille and Matthew Thomas. Instantaneously, after learning of her conception, Janille and Matthew were filled with immense pride and love for this little soul. Some time after, this glorious news was then shared with family and friends. A precious little soul, the announcement of Neriah’s conception and anticipation of her birth generated intense feelings of joy, hope, and love. Our hearts were filled with an abundance of expectancy; yet, nothing like this.

Sadly, Neriah (Light of The Lord) Ariel (Lion of God) Thomas was stillborn on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 3:40 p.m., weighing 2lbs 8ozs. and measuring 16 inches. Neriah Ariel was born to her parents, Matthew and Janille Thomas at the Windsor Regional Hospital – Met Campus. Loaned to us for but a short while, Neriah was ushered back into the presence of our God and is now safely cradled in the arms of our Heavenly Father. Her life and death exuded Matthew 19:14 - But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me. Don’t stop them, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to people who are like these children.”

Living to fulfill the meaning of her name, Neriah truly was our angel of light, illuminating our hearts and lives, both in her living and in her passing. She was indeed a gift to us and reward from the Lord. Neriah Ariel Thomas is survived by her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.

We will be celebrating the gift of her life on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Open Arms Community Church — 3325 Walker Rd. Please bear us up in prayer.

Sweet Baby Neriah, we will always cherish you and will carry you in our hearts and souls forever. Even though we know that you, our little angel of light, is being cradled in the arms of our Lord, you are greatly missed and never to be forgotten. We are blessed to have had you in our lives and have been made better for it. We look forward to reuniting with you on that glorious day in Heaven.

Sleep in Peace our dearest Neriah, as we await our reunion someday.

Private family service and burial at Windsor Memorial Gardens.

"Precious Little One"

I'm just a precious little one
who didn't make it there.
I went straight to be with Jesus,
but I'm waiting for you here.
Many dwelling here where I live,
waited years to enter in.
Struggled through a world of sorrow
a world marred with pain and sin.
Thank you for the life you gave me,
it was brief but don't complain.
I have all Heaven's Glory,
suffered none of earth's great pain.
Thank you for the name you gave me.
I'd have loved to bring it fame.
But if I'd lingered in earth's shadows,
I would have suffered just the same.
So sweet family - don't you sorrow.
Wipe those tears and chase the gloom.
I went straight to Jesus' arms
from my loving Mother's womb.
