Obituary for Norman Renaud

Passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on February 1, 2024 at 84 years of age. Beloved husband of 60 years to Sofia (nee Scurk). Proud father to Tracey, Anne Marie and Marc Derikx, Kari and Paul Seguin. Loving Papa to Alex (Jenna), Drew and Nik Derikx, Luca Sovran and Xavier Seguin. As the youngest of 13 children he leaves behind many adored nieces and nephews.

As a young man Norm was a talented athlete who excelled on the basketball court and the football field. Once he discovered golf, he was hooked and played avidly his entire life.
While in high school he met his soulmate Sofia. They married in 1963 and raised their 3 daughters in Riverside. He found his vocation in education. He was a dedicated teacher and coach. He continued his own education, receiving a Master’s degree in Education and subsequently became Vice Principal at FJ Brennan High School and then Principal at Holy Names High School until his retirement.
He stayed active in retirement, travelling the world with his wife, playing golf with his friends, enjoying his time with friends and family, at home and away. He continued to engage in his passion for education as an executive and president of the RTO.
