Obituary for Patricia Jeanne Matthews (nee Szabo)
It is with much sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Patricia on April 27, 2021 at 65 years of age. Loving mother of Richard “Beau” Matthews (Blake Lundy). Dear sister of Richard Szabo (Beth). Predeceased by parents Barbara and Andrew Szabo. Aunt Patty will be missed by Ryan Szabo and Steven Szabo.
As the head chef of Joe Schmoe’s, Patricia has fed countless people over the years. Cooking was her passion, and that was obvious to anyone who had the privilege of eating her food, but she wasn't always a chef. Her life was going in a vastly different direction when she first fell in love with cooking, so she altered course to realize her dreams.
She enrolled in the culinary program at St. Clair College, and graduated top of her class with excellent marks. With her skills and talent in the kitchen, she rose up through the ranks until coming to LaSalle and finally becoming head chef. Chef Patty was especially proud to have independence in the kitchen. She called the shots, and she called them well.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Patricia’s life will take place at a future date.
