Obituary for Peter Stebila
We are sad to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Peter Stebila. Born to John and Mary Stebila, Peter married his University of Windsor college sweetheart Judy (née Foreman). Loving and proud father to Jonathan (Pamela). Grandfather to Ayden, Victoria, Annabella, and Chase. Brother to John (Irma), Andrew (Mary Jane), and Michael (Adele), and lifelong friend to the brothers of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity at the University of Windsor.
During his career, Peter was a Manager at the Scotiabank and in the Department of Social Services for the City of Windsor. Peter was a fan of the music of Elvis Presley, had a soft spot for Fozzie Bear, and volunteered for many years with the International Freedom Festival. Petro Zos Chubina (Peter) and Gwendolyn Gurney of Hastings (Judy) spent many days with friends in the Barony of Roaring Wastes in the Midrealm Kingdom of the Society for Creative Anachronism.
The family is grateful to all of the friends and family who have supported them over the years, and the care from the staff at Huron Lodge and Village at St. Clair. A funeral and Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, March 21st at 11am at Families First located at 1065 Lauzon Road in Windsor. Please join the family for a reception immediately following at The Royal Canadian Legion of Ambassador & Walkerville Branch located at 1570 Marentette Avenue in Windsor.
In lieu of flowers, Peter's family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Windsor & Essex County.
