Obituary for Pietro (Peter) Mancini

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father at the age of 90, surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Devoted husband of 61 years to his precious wife Marie (late 2020). First born to the late Rocco and Marietta Mancini. Proud father to Lisa O’Brien (Bert), Ricky Mancini, Donna Mancini (Serge), Daniel Mancini (Sabrina), Paul Mancini (Tami). Dearly loved Nonno to grandchildren Justin and Brittany O’Brien, Landon (Vanessa), Brenden, Alexa Mancini and Daniel Mancini. Loving and respected eldest brother of the late Philomena DeSantis, Nunzio Mancini (Pilar), late Anna Donatucci (Mario), Antionetta DiLullo (late Franco), Elvira Tees (late Alan), Joanne Urbani (Emilio), Remo Mancini (Mary). Dear brother-in-law of Livia Donofrio (late Domenic). Very special and deeply admired uncle to his nephews, nieces and great niece Veronica Mancini. Father was affectionately known as “Uncle Pete” and “Nonno Pete” to many friends and neighborhood children.

He was a devoted employee of Windsor Salt for 32 years, where he made many lifelong friends. Father was a true outdoorsman and some of his happiest days were spent in his woodlot or working his land. Together with our mother their home was the gathering place, welcoming to all. Father’s wish was to continue to live in the home he built for his family. We are grateful to his devoted granddaughter Brittany who has been his live in caregiver for the past three years, allowing him to live the rest of his days in his home. We would like to thank Dr. Dino D’Aloisio for his care and friendship to our father and all the support to the family. Our father was a huge presence in our lives and he will be dearly missed by all the lives he touched.

If you so desire, donations can be made to the Amherstburg Food and Fellowship Mission.
