Obituary for Rene Philip Belanger
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, Rene Belanger at 96 years of age, on April 24, 2023. He will be reunited with his wife Margaret (2004) and his eldest son Wayne (2021) (Jan). He is survived by his children Christine, Keith (Susan), Sandra (Ron), Marianne (Richard), Carol (Timothy), Lori (Greg) and Renee (David).
He will be deeply missed by his 19 grandchildren, 26 1/2 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. He was the son of Arthur and Delia and the brother of 14 siblings.
He worked at Ford Motor Company until he started his own construction company, Rene Belanger Contractor, until retirement. Rene was a proud veteran in the Canadian army. He enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends. He was also an avid card player and especially loved cribbage and euchre. In his later years he built numerous elaborate birdhouses which are proudly displayed.
