Obituary for Renzo Liburdi

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Renzo Liburdi on June 5, 2021, at the age of 85. Renzo was many things to many people, but above all he will be remembered as the foundation of our family, the life of the party, and a humble man with the purest heart.

Renzo will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted husband of over 60 years to Clementina (nee Angelini). He was a dedicated father to Joanne and Frank Chiandussi, Anna and Pascal Maola, Mario and Daniella (nee Bietola), and special uncle to Sandro and Rosa (nee
Ferro). An exceptional Nonno to Christopher (Shauna), Joseph (Rachel), Leesa (Domenic), Michael (Julianna), Laura (Andrea), Renzo (Lisa), Andrew(Sophia) Vince (Keely), Romano (Angelina) and Christina. Doting Nonnuchi to Analisa, Claudia, Domenic and Vincenzo.

Loving brother of Filippo, Anna and Vincenzo Panecaldo, Santina and Walter Pandolfi, and Antonio. Cherished brother-in-law to Livio and Antonietta, Antonietta and Marcello, and Anna Angelini all of Italy and John Savone (Ottawa).

Renzo is eternally reunited with his parents, Sebastiano and Francesca (nee Desantis); his late
mother and father-in-law, Giovanni and Giovanna Angelini; his brother Giuseppe; his sisters-in-law Giuseppina and Rosa Liburdi, and Maria Savone; and his brothers-in-law Mario, Angelo and Clemente Angelini.

Renzo immigrated to Canada in 1957, aspiring for a better life, and in search of greater opportunities for his family. Renzo was always a hard worker, spending his entire career in the construction business, working alongside his family. In 1965, he established his own company, Renzo Cement, and was well recognized and respected as an exceptional cement finisher. He was meticulous in his craft, and he took great pride in teaching his skills to all.

Renzo was a founding member of the Ciociaro Club of Windsor, and a member of the Caboto
Club of Windsor for over 50 years. He was a member of the Canadian Italian Business and
Professional Association, and a member of the Windsor Construction Association.

He was a proud and caring Zio to many nieces and nephews, and a remarkable and trustworthy confidante to countless friends. He was greatly respected and will be truly missed by all his relatives and friends from Windsor, to Ottawa, to New York, and back home to his native town, Ceccano.

Renzo’s loyalty to his family was immeasurable, and he always made it a top priority to surround
himself with loved ones. His workmanship will live on and his master paving skills forever witnessed on streets all over Windsor. His greatest legacy he leaves behind are the foundations of his family, and the countless futures he paved the way for. His intelligence, wisdom, and kindness will forever live in his family’s hearts. If you so desire, donations to Autism Windsor or Hospice of Windsor would be appreciated by the family. Face coverings and reservations are required for visitation at your scheduled time on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from at Families First, South Windsor, 3260 Dougall Ave. (519-969-5841). The visitation has now reached maximum capacity per current government regulations, and no further reservations are available.
