Obituary for (Ret.) Inspector Frederick Patrick Brannagan

It is with profound sadness we announce the loss of our beloved Father, Grandfather and mentor Frederick Patrick Brannagan at home in the loving care of his son, “his guy”, Jerome with the unwavering support of PSW Jaclyn, the VON and the Hospice Care team. He was and we are truly grateful to all of the caregivers who looked after his comfort and showed their love for him in those final days.

Cherished husband of Helen (McDonald) (2021). Beloved and very proud father of Jackie (Al) Hillier, Jerome (Tina), Mary (Greg Jolie), Kevin (Vicky) and Fred (Lisa). Loving “Pumpa” to Matthew, Ryan, Craig, Laurel, Meaghan, Patrick, Katie, Olivia, Shelby, Candace, Sean, Sabrina, Eric and 8 Great Grandchildren.

Dad was the last remaining child of Thomas and Annie Brannagan, predeceased by his siblings Catherine Caza, John, Thomas, Margaret and Gerry.

Dad was very proud to have served with the Royal Canadian Air Force from September 14, 1943 to September 18, 1945 and then subsequently the Windsor Police Department from June 6, 1949 until his retirement as Inspector on May 31, 1983. He dedicated many years to the Windsor Police Association Board of Directors and was a founding member of what became the WPA Peer Counseling Group.

Dad’s spirit will forever be comforting us at his cherished cottage on Lake Papineau in Mattawa feeding the chippers and hummingbirds!

If you so desire, donations to the Hospice of Windsor would be appreciated by the family. A family service was held followed by interment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor (519-989-5841).
