Welcomed into the arms of God on May 10, 2019 at 87 years of age. Loving son of the late Homer and Olivine Giroux. Dear brother of the late Pauline (Paul) Chouinard, Jerome, Zenon, Richard and survived by his sister-in-law of Lucienne Giroux. Also survived by 26 nieces and nephews. Fr. Rene was ordained May 3, 1958 and served in many Local parishes including Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Paul, Blessed Sacrament, St. Theresa’s, St. Anne Tecumseh, St. John Vianney, and St. Clements. Fr. Rene will always be remembered for his dedication to those in need, refugees and especially the people of Haiti. If you so desire, donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society would be appreciated by the family. Visiting May 12, 2019 Sunday 2-4pm at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. Visitation continues on Sunday 7-9pm at St. Anne Parish Tecumseh Parish prayers 8pm and Monday after 10am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11am.
