Peacefully, on February 25, 2024, at the age of 70. Predeceased by his parents, Fernando and Presentacion Abenes. Dear brother of Lerma Quitiquit, Renaldo Abenes (Lurina), and predeceased by Myrna King (Richard). Rodrigo will be forever remembered by his nieces and nephews, whom he treated as his children, Joy Quitiquit (Mike), Audrey Abenes-Jouni (Khalil), Jennifer James (Moses), Brian Quitiquit (Adelle), Lucille Abenes Sivilay (Sonexay). Rodrigo was loved by many great-nieces and great-nephews, whom he cherished so much; Alyssia Rae, Jared, Jackson, Ibrahim “Ibby”, Myrna, Oliver, Lincoln, Logan, Leyah, Noah and Leilani. As well as being deeply loved by his family in Canada, Rodrigo was also loved by many cousins in the USA and Philippines.

Rod was retired from GM after many years of service. He loved bowling, especially in the Filipino leagues and was passionate about chess.

A heartfelt thank you to the Hospice of Windsor for Rod’s last few weeks providing their utmost compassionate care. Special thanks to the WRH Cancer Clinic and HDGH Rehab.
