With broken hearts we announce the passing of a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. The “Captain” passed peacefully in his sleep after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on December 10, 2018 a day after his 93rd birthday. Born in rural Saskatchewan, Roman leaves behind his wife Margaret, the love of his life, His children John (Maria), Mary Ralph (Jim), Leah Corbin (Gary), Tom (Angel), Roman, Martin, and was predeceased by Bill. Thirteen incredible grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many friends. Roman was a very hard working man and retired as CEO of Hotel Dieu Hospital after 30 years. He was an honorary fellow of American College Hospital Association, a member of the Canadian College Hospital Association and an honorary member of the Windsor Essex Medical Society. He has been retired for 28 years and spent 6 months of those years at his cottage on Manitoulin. If you so desire, donations to Street Help or St. John Vianney would be appreciated. Visitation Thursday 2pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm with Parish Prayers at 4:30pm at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841. On Friday, family and friends are invited to meet at St. John Vianney Church (385 Dieppe St.) after 10am for the Funeral Mass at 11am. Procession to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
