Obituary for Ronald Cullen

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather on February 25, 2024, who was surrounded by his loving family in prayer. Cherished husband of Leslie for nearly 50 years. Treasured father of Jennifer Boyd (George), Stephanie Johnson (Ken), Michael Cullen, David Cullen, and Joelle Taylor (Scott). “Papa” to granddaughter Camryn Boyd, and “Grandpa” to grandsons Ryan and Eric Johnson. Predeceased by his parents Thomas & Mary Cullen, and his brother Donald Cullen. Survived by his brothers Frank (Dianne), Martin, Lloyd (Liz), Kevin (Tammy), and his best friend and “brother” for over 50 years Ron Alliet “Bones”.

Ronald was a loving father, a hard worker for his family, retiring from Ford Motor Co. after many years of dedication as a skilled tradesman. An avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family at the cottages up North. He was a great mentor, and a true Irishman with the gift for story-telling, able to tell a joke and not afraid to express his opinions at the drop of a hat. He always tried to find the humour in life.

The family wishes to thank the nursing staff of the ICU at WRH Metropolitan campus, and a special thanks to the entire team at Hospice of Windsor for their compassionate, exceptional and dedicated care to both Ronald and his family. If you so desire, donations to the Hospice Residential would be appreciated by the family.

Visiting on Thursday February 29, 2024 from 9:30 am until 12 noon at FAMILIES FIRST 1065 LAUZON RD. East Windsor, 519-969-5841. Leaving in procession 12:15 pm, for Funeral Mass at St. John Vianney Church (385 Dieppe St.) at 1 pm. Cremation to follow with a Celebration of Life in Oshawa, Ontario at a later date.
