Obituary for Rosalie (Rose) Barbara DiPenta (née Manley)

Peacefully, on December 13, 2018 at the age of 92 surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her beloved husband Michael Di Penta (1993). Devoted mother of the late Cheryl DiPenta (1999) and Michael J. Di Penta and wife Carmen Morand. Loving grandma of Mylène and Serge and wife Tanya (nee Kavelaars). Great grandma of Leo and Zoey. Predeceased by her siblings Margaret (Edward) Del Vecchio, Alex (Mary) Manley, Ann (Matt) McMullin, Stephen (Elsie) Manley, Louis (Marie) Manley, Joey Manley, Helen (Edward) Medora, Francis Manley, Irma (John) Collette. Survived by sisters in law Lorraine Manley (wife of Joey), Hewina DiPenta (wife of Valentino) and by many nieces and nephews. The wait of Rose’s passing was born lovingly by her son Michael and her closest friends: Claudia Symchysyn, Daniella Pastorius, Velma Fontain, and her loving nephew Colin and niece Alexis. Rose was born in Sydney, NS and moved to Halifax in 1967 where she first started working for Sears. In 1969, Rose and husband Mike moved to Windsor, ON which she called home until her passing. Upon retirement from Sears she devoted her life to her extended family; the parishioners of St. Martin de Porres, and subsequently Corpus Christi. Two of Rose’s greatest loves were her dog Max and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Rose had a sardonic sense of humour and loved to laugh. Rose will be remembered for her generous spirit and her support of many charities. Donations to the Cheryl Barbara DiPenta Memorial Scholarship Fund (Cape Breton University) (cheques payable to CB University) would be appreciated by the family. Visitation Tuesday 11:00 am to 12: 45 pm. Funeral service leaving Families First (3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841) Tuesday at 1:00 pm traveling to Corpus Christi Church for Mass at 1:30pm. Committal to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
