Obituary for Rose Lacasse (nee Pillar)

March 13, 1929 – September 24, 2023

Suddenly yet peacefully Rose has finally met her Creator. Receiving her in his loving arms her husband Hector (1977). Rose was the second of three daughters. Born to the late Joseph and Zuzanna Pillar. Predeceased by her sister Mary McAlpine (Al) and survived by her sister Josephine Novosedlik (predeceased by Bill). Much loved Maman of Marie-Anne Crease and husband Tom, Yvette Mailloux and husband David, Jean-Marc and wife Brenda, Louis and partner Sandee, Monique McCall and partner Ron St. Louis, André and wife Deborah, Rollande, Renée and husband Keith Ashman, Nicole Couture and husband Lawrence, Colette and husband Abdullah Al Hanaya. Cherished Mémé of Brooke, Martin and Blythe, Eric and Jessica, Luc and Shannon, Christopher, Kimberly, Ian and Vanessa, Andrew and Taylor, Alex, Blair and Heidi, Adam, Brigitte, Majed, Omar, Laila and Abdullah, and predeceased by Stuart and David. Great-grandmother of Betty, and two soon to arrive. Rose will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Rose graduated from Hotel-Dieu in 1950. She enjoyed her Saturday morning forays to garage sales and auctions, adding to her collection of “dinky doos”. She also derived great enjoyment from her garden. Rose was known for her warm and infectious smile, thus her patronage for supporting Operation Smile.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Operation Smile, Second Chance Ministry or Ste. Anne Building Fund.

Visitation Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with Catholic Women’s League prayers at 4:30 p.m.

Visitation will continue Friday, September 29, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until leaving from Families First, East Windsor, 1065 Lauzon Road (519-969-5841) at 10:30 a.m. for Mass of Christian Burial at Ste. Anne Church, 12233 Tecumseh Road East at 11:00 a.m.

Burial to follow at Ste. Anne Cemetery.
