Obituary for Rose Landry (nee Drouillard)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mom at the age of 92.
Loving mother of Mike (Vicky, 2011), Vince, Don, Diane (Doug, 2008), Mark (2009) and DJ (John) Virban. Special step-grandmother of Dustin Wiley. Great-grandmother of Cash and Locklyn Wiley. Predeceased by her parents Ovila (1969) and Cecile (1988) Drouillard and siblings Frank (1994), Paul (1924), Leo (2020) (Helen, 2020), Lucille (2020) (Romeo, 2001) Bondy, Julia (2011), Rev. Robert Drouillard (1961), Anna (2021), and Michael (2018). Survived by her sister Claire Drouillard. Sister-in-law of Loretta Garneau (1992), Leo (1976) (Marylin) Landry, Alice (2014) (John, 2014) Tomko, Paul (2006) (Pat) Landry, Roger (Jan) Landry, and Ray (Sandy) Landry. Rose will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be reunited with many of the family’s fur kids.
Rose retired from the Windsor Star downtown mailroom. Mom loved to play cards and watch her beloved Toronto Blue Jays, you would think she was the manager.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Mark Landry Memorial Basketball Scholarship, Windsor and Essex County Cancer Center Foundation, Humane Society or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held at Families First, in South Windsor (3260 Dougall, 519-969-5841) on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 4 – 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Our Lady of Assumption Parish from 10 a.m. until the time of mass at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
