Obituary for Rosemary Marentette (Laprise)

Unexpectedly, but surrounded by family, on July 25, aged 94. Beloved wife for 62 years of the late Bernard (Barney). Dearest daughter of the late Solomon and Mabel Laprise. She will be so sadly missed by her children Joseph of Windsor, James and spouse Kim Couch of Waterloo, Judith of Cortes Island, B.C., Gerianne St. Antoine of Calgary and Margaret McGill of London, her cherished grandchildren Patrick, Joan, Denise, Phoenix, Jena, Gregory, Katherine and Marie, and her dearly loved great-grandchildren Sawyer and Elliett. Predeceased by her dear sister Helen Murphy and brother Joseph Laprise, and in-laws William and Viola Marentette and Terrance Marentette.

Rose was a lifelong dedicated Windsorite. During the war she worked in the Detroit office of the British General Staff, and later for Ford and Chrysler. She and Barney married in 1951 and raised five children in Riverside. She was a truly perfect mother. Rose then served as a court registrar in the Superior Courts in Windsor and Newmarket. She and Barney immediately moved back to Windsor when he retired. Rose was one of the founders of Iris House and volunteered there for many years. Since 2020 she has resided in Waterloo to be closer to some of her grand-children.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Iris House, (Iris Residential Inns and Services, Windsor), or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Visitation Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Corpus Christi Church (1400 Cabana Rd. W., Windsor) from 10am until Mass of Christian burial at 11am. Burial to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery, Windsor.
