Obituary for Ruth Bensette

1939-2020
Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, on September 13th, 2020, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Daughter of the late Edna and Ernest McLean. Wife of Larry (2007). Dear sister of Joan Branget, Marion Kosmal (1991), and Kathleen Kugler. Cherished mother of 4 children: Arlene (Glenn) Sawyer, Michael (Brenda) Bensette, Colleen Bensette and Danielle Kiewitz. Proud grandmother and ‘Baba’ to 10 grandchildren: Ashley (Dustin), Shaun (Mary), Caitlin (Kenny), Averie, Courtney, Mitchell, Brittney, Brandon, Liam, and Lucas. Ruth was also a very special ‘Baba’ to her great-granddaughter and biggest fan, Heidi. Two never-forgotten sons-in-law, Don Pflanzner and Udo Kiewitz, hold a very special place in her heart.

When not immersed in a book, Ruth enjoyed spending time in her garden, sewing and many other past times, including writing poetry, and even had one of her poetry books published. She also enjoyed sharing her recliner with her four-legged companion, Sparky.

A special thank-you to all the Doctors and nurses who helped her with her fight with cancer, especially Mitzell and Stephanie.

“I do not want tears from you when I’m gone. But keep me silently locked in a little nook in your heart”. -Ruth Bensette.

If you so desire, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
